WHITE SPOT HOSPITALITY NAMED ONE OF CANADA'S BEST MANAGED COMPANIES FOR THE 12TH YEAR

VANCOUVER, B.C. (May 12, 2022) – For its 12th straight year, the iconic BC-based restaurant group, White Spot Hospitality, was awarded with the prestigious Canada’s Best Managed Companies designation, along with its Platinum Club status after having achieved the Best Managed designation for more than seven consecutive years.

Now in its 29th year, Canada’s Best Managed Companies remains one of the country’s leading business award programs recognizing Canadian-owned and managed companies for innovative, world-class business practices. Every year, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies compete for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates the caliber of their management abilities and practices.

White Spot and Triple O’s continues to demonstrate perseverance and resiliency against the many external influences their industry is facing including the pandemic, rising costs of goods, supply chain challenges and labour shortages. In fact, they’ve continued to grow and expanded the brand by opening seven new Triple O’s locations in BC, Alberta and Ontario over the past year and have plans to open another 30 new restaurants in Ontario over the next five years. They have also added their third food truck, to provide on-the-go support in Ontario. Most recently, in May 2022, they opened R+D Kitchen by White Spot; a “Test Kitchen” restaurant.

“It’s once again an incredible honour to be named one of Canada’s Best Managed companies. This recognition is particularly meaningful for all of us within the White Spot and Triple O’s family,” said White Spot and Triple O’s President Warren Erhart. “We are beyond grateful for the continued loyalty and support from our team, guests, franchisees, partners, suppliers, and our ownership Shato Holdings, and appreciate the trust placed in us as we strive to continue to provide the White Spot and Triple O’s experience, we have all come to know and love.”

Since 1928, White Spot founder, Nat Bailey started the tradition of giving back to children and their families in British Columbia – 94 years later the company proudly continues to support the communities they serve. Throughout the year, White Spot’s commitment to philanthropy and upholding one of the Best Managed Companies’ key qualifiers in Corporate Social Responsibility, continued to be a priority for the company. In the past year, White Spot donated more than $200,000 to a number of charities and organizations, including raising funds for the BC Wildfire and Flood Relief efforts, Variety The Children’s Charity, the CKNW Kids Fund, and Richmond Hospital Foundation.

“The 2022 Best Managed winners have demonstrated an exceptional ability to identify lucrative opportunities and successfully adapt to new situations, leveraging industry-leading competencies to maximize their investments and drive sustainable growth,” said Lorrie King, National Co-Leader of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies program and Partner, Deloitte Private. “Over the past year, these companies displayed a forging-forward mentality that enabled them to weather challenges and explore new avenues for advancement. They exemplify the resilience and innovative business practices that are necessary as the Canadian and global business environments continue to change rapidly.”
